各位即将奔赴SAT考场的同学，首先，调整好自己的状态，用最充沛的精力大战一场，取得好的成绩。在考试之前，关于SAT写作中相对重要的evidence和stylistic and persuasive elements的分析，再跟大家啰嗦几句：
其实，这三个大的方向就是我们上课讲过的五步分析---position, content, interpretation, relationship, effect. 下面提供一个例段，希望各位可以考前再次回顾。（选自foreign news at a crisis point）
In paragraph one, Goodman cites the statistics released by American Journalism Review that the number of full-time foreign correspondents recruited by newspapers in the United States in 2003 was 307 and then in 2011, it dropped greatly to 234, which shows that the number of people providing credible and legitimate information to news services in the U. S. is going down. Obviously, the shrinking statistics can definitely help Goodman to build his argument by evoking his audience to be aware of the truth that there may be in the future a lack of unbiased media presentation but it has great influence on their mundane lives and thus the need for more professional foreign news coverage is of great importance. Undoubtedly, the analysis of these statistics suggests that the author has put effort on researching, greatly enhancing the credibility of the author’s argument by providing the readers with a chance to analyze the proofs objectively and independently and then reach a conclusion in accord with the author.
对于新SAT写作中stylistic and persuasive elements的分析，很多学生只是在作文中去“默写”机构老师所给的相关“固定模板效果性内容”，但是这并不能真正在作文中得到理想分数，因为没有很好的与文章的内容，特别是文章主旨进行联系。说白了，很多学生在作文中还是纯粹的“默写”，没有很好的去进行分析。在这边，我只能说，不分析，只“默写”提前准备好的东西，高分肯定与你擦肩而过。分析stylistic and persuasive elements，可以从lexical和syntactic两个方向出发，先识别，再具体分析。下面对今年三月全球首考的“A Call for National Service”中的词语角度进行相关分析，供各位学生参考：
Through the whole passage, it is palpable to notice that the author indeed contributes a lot to the usage of diction. Initially, by utilizing alliteration in paragraph three---self-evident and self-executing, the author successfully catches the attention of the audience and makes the idea impressed deeply on the audience through highlighting the sounds of words, which at the same time definitely helps the author to propose people’s narrowly-defined understanding of the spirits of freedom. Moreover, in paragraph seven, Dionne Jr also characterizes the national service as “not compulsory” but “an expectation” and through the whole passage, the author uses the pronoun “we”, both of which enable the audience to be aware that the author actually argues and analyzes from the perspective of the audience, and in an emotionally-charged way makes the audience realize that “national service” is reasonable. Furthermore, instead of using “change”, the author modifies the national service to be “transformative” in paragraph ten, properly emphasizing the significance of the national service and then pushing the audience to spark off the sense of responsibility hidden in their heart and to be more willing to participate into the national service.
